Starting January 1, 2012 the standard rates for the use of a vehicle will be:   

  • 55.5 cents per mile for business miles driven (remaining unchanged from 2011 mid-year adjustment which went to 55.5 in July 2011 from 51 cents in January 2011)
  • 23 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes (decreasing by .5 cents from 2011 mid-year adjustment which went to 23.5 cents in July 2011 from 19 cents in January 2011)
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations (remaining unchanged from 2011)
