NV Minimum Wage change effective July 1, 2010

minimum-wage

The Nevada Labor Commissioner has issued a reminder regarding the scheduled Nevada Minimum Wage guideline changess effective July 1, 2010.

Keep in mind that “if” an employee is offered “qualified” benefits and waives/declines such benefits and AdvanStaff has a record of this waiver, the employee is paid the lower of the two wages. Introductory or part-time employees remain at the higher wage until a status change to full-time.

Current
Rate
Effective
7/1/2010
Employees not offered health insurance $ 7.55 / hr $ 8.25 /hr
Employees offered health insurance $ 7.25 / hr $ 7.25 / hr

This change is mandatory and all employers are required to adhere to the new rate.

When submitting payrolls in late June and July, managers will need to note all hours worked under the current minimum wage and all hours worked under the new minimum wage.

A similiar notice to this will arrive in upcoming payroll deliveries. Please contact the HR Department at AdvanStaff for more information or clarification regarding this notice.
